An interesting look at the postwar world of Show and Breeding Dogs, as seen through the eyes of the Official 1947 Catalogue of The Alberta Kennel Club's 43rd Annual Dog Show. Staple-bound, printed paper wraps, 8vo size (8.5 inches tall), pp. 72, illustrated throughout, errata slip tipped in on p. 29, prize list, list of donors and exhibitors w. addresses, all canine entrant's have statistics sighting their lineage and owners names, local period ads and a relevant newspaper clipping, giving the results of the Show, is also loosely laid in. Volume is toned with a few small stains and closed tears, else unmarked throughout. The Alberta Kennel Club has been operating since 1904 and is still active today. An uncommon and ephemeral program, with OCLC locating no other copies.

Old damp stain to lower half of text block near head of spine - not affecting illustrations or printed text, with some rippling to fore-edge and spotting to terminal leaves, one bit of tape residue and some small chips and wear to covers. Evidently, the first catalogue ever issued by The American Meter Company, "We have been accustomed to issuing a circular for each piece of apparatus ... these have become so numerous that it is of more advantage to our customers to have a complete catalogue with all articles numbered and indexed for ready reference. This is presented herewith." from the preface. Contains a turn of the century selection of clocks, gauges, photometers, candles, provers and appliances.
