Scarce 1955 Australian's Reader's Book Club edition, hardback, red boards, with dustjacket. Book is intact, with very minor wear on the cover and some minor foxing on the page edges. Illustrated with photographs. No extraneous owner's writing on the pages. The dust jacket has significant tears along the bottom at the front and, most notably, on the back (see images).

The first example of a film script being published before the film had been made and telling the story of Doctor Thomas Rock and his association with the graverobbers, Fallon and Broom. Based on the infamous Scots grave robbers, Burke and Hare who murdered sixteen people in Edinburgh in 1828 and sold their corpses to Dr Robert Knox for used in his anatomy lectures.
This is a 1969 reprint (the second reprint) of the 1953 Dent & Sons edition. Hardback, red boards, with plastic protected dust jacket. Excellent condition throughout.
