Publisher's original green cloth with titles in gilt to the spine. 155pp. A very good copy, the binding tight with a little darkening to the spine and wear to the extremities. The contents with toning to the endpapers are otherwise in very good order and clean throughout. A nice copy of the last work published in Tennyson's lifetime, gifted by the man himself.

Mysore: The Mysore Toys Company., [c.1938].. Twelve colourful lacquer-painted wooden figures tied with string to two card mounts, with printed titles in English and Kannada beneath. Contained within their original decorative card box with printed paper title label to the lid. Original folding advertising leaflet loosely laid in. Condition is very good, the figures remaining bright and undamaged (having never been removed from the box), with just a chip to the corner of one of the card sheets. The box with a little splitting and wear is otherwise in good order. A charming Indian educational toy created by M. Veerappa (1901-1969), artist and proprietor of the Mysore Toys Company, comprising twelve boldly-painted figures of Southern Indian village occupations. Blue and white pictorial endpapers. Illustrated with 17 black and white full-page plates by Stella Langdale and numerous in-text vignettes. Small contemporary bookseller's label to the rear pastedown (Brentano's, Paris). Two related newspaper clippings loosley laid in. A very good copy, the binding square and firm with a little dulling to the spine. The contents with offsetting to the facing pages where the newspaper cuttings have sat (not affecting illustrated pages), some light offsetting to the introduction page/title page verso, and some occasional light foxing are otherwise in very good order.
