Description:
Originally the articles were a course of magazine series from November 1884-1887. The original suggestion (based upon the success of two articles from different points of view on the John Brown raid, in "The Century" for mont) was of eieght or ten articles of decisive battles of war, and included Editor-in-Chie, at once cordially adopted the suggestion, committing the charge of its execution to Mr. Johnson, the associate editor assisted by Mr. Buel.
These volumes are the product of a natural sequence of the magazine series.Nicolay and Hay's Life of Lincoln (1886-87) increased the monthly issue of the magazine and proved great interest in the history of Civil War. These volumes are an incredible account of the Civil War Generals, Soldiers, and Presidents and all who were part of it.

Description:
text: Nathaniel Hawthorne preface to second edition. Much to author's surpise considerably to his amusement, he finds that his sketch of officiallife, introductory to THE SCARLET LETTER, has created an unprecedentet excitment in the respectable community immediately around him. It could hardly have been more violent, indeed had he burned down theCustom House, and quenched his last smoking ember in the blood of a certainvenerable personage, against whom he is supposed to cherish a peculia malevolence.
The author is constrained, therfore, to republish his introductory sketch without the change of the word.
This book is an important resource for the student/s who seek analytical cure of this book.

Description:
In author's words: But let me describe the music school. I love it here. I is the basement of a huge Baptist church. Golden collection plates rest on table beside me. Girls in their first blush of adolescence, carrying fawn-colored flute cases and pallid folders of music, shuffle by me....from all directions sounds-of pianos, oboes, clarinets-arrive like hints of another world, a world where angels fumble, pause, fumble, and begin again.....
