Minimal marking found, 1 page with ink scratch (possibly a small amount more - I didn't check them all...) and a name inside the fep. Black leather binding (Roan) is splitting away from the front cover but otherwise firm throughout. Rubbed around covers. Gilt page edges have some stains (ink?) along the top edge and sides but no obscuration of the text. This is an 1857 version..

Circa 1870 described as Nouvelle Edition, publ LaPlace, Sanchez et Cie. 610pp. Quarter Moroccan binding (spine only) is good with 4 bands and readable gilt lettering. Board covers are terribly worn and chipped, design is barely visible. Gilt page edges are very good on the bottom, fairly good with small chips and soiling on the top edge and considerably chipped down the side. 4 or 5 colour plates inside are all tissue-covered (tissues are heavily foxed) - there are patches of foxing throughout the book.
