London: The Folio Press, 1987. Hardcover. Fine/No Jacket. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Beautiful blue marbled paper covered boards with gilt title on a cloth title plate on the front, blue cloth covered spine. Contents unmarked, page edges rough cut, this has been kept in a clear protective sleeve.

Bound in green cloth with a gilt and red emblem on the front, faded gilt titles on the spine. Spine a little discoloured, folds at spine ends, some abrasions to boards but remaining attractive and robust. Strings revealed between the binding and the text-block, front and rear. Ink inscription to the front end paper dated 1910 with darkened related newspaper cuttings pasted inside the front of the binding (see photo). Pages clean and clear, abundantly illustrated including coloured plates. An obviously used book, clearly precious to the previous owner.

A portrait of Walter Crane has been pasted inside the front over the patterned end papers. The illustrated title page has an "amendment" in small neat ink, partially deleting the author"Two Wallflowers" with "Mary Frank Dixon". Full page, full colour illustrations with supporting text. A very attractive book.

Illustrated blue cloth binding, a light scattering of small light spots across both boards and titles a little faded, small bump to the top edge but cloth remains untorn, but remaining neat and attractive still. Hinge firm, no inscriptions. A very light damp mark to the top corner of pages which becomes less and less visible, disappearing by page 48. No spots of foxing internally, pages smooth and clear, with fold out map at the rear of the book.

Signed by John Robson Watson at the top of the Title Page. Pale grey card cover with red titles on the front and with inside flaps covering the plain cream card booklet. There is a stamp to the front end paper regarding the proceeds of sale of the book. The contents are smooth and clean, unmarked, and inserted is a Compliment slip of the Author. Rather a unique copy.
