Saco: William Noyes & Co, 1874. 180, 25, 69, 40, 65 pp. Ex-library with partial library label on the inside front cover and a raised blind stamp on the title page. Much of the spine is lacking. Wagner rowed out to Smuttynose which is part of the Isles of Shoals off Portsmouth N.H. and killed two women with an axe thinking there was $600 hidden on the island. A third woman survived. He was convicted and executed, and this is a transcript of the trial. This is an infamous Maine murder that still is recounted in articles, books and through other media. The last copy at auction was in 2021 and no copies currently online. McDade, 1032.

PAris: Editions Finisterre, 1953. Green and tan marbled paper wraps. 57 pp. Good with minor wear. Illustrated with cuts of monkeys. Walter had a remarkable career in writing and acting. Born in Alabama he spent many years in Paris and in Italy finally return to America and died in his home state in 1998.

Baltimore, 1937. Broadsheet. 6"x 9". Lightly soiled and faded. Chick Web (1905-1939) was an African American band leader, drummer and jazz musician. A young Ella Fitzgerald (1917-1996) was featured alongside Webb.

Philadelphia: Printed for the Author by Griggs & C., 1818. Third edition. 48 pp. Removed from a bound volume, left edge of the pages stained and there is an old, raised library stamp on the title page (Library Company). Not in McDade. Sabin 102470.This work includes a plate picturing the murder of a seducer. The first work described the case of a man led astray by reading Pain's Age of Reason. He seduces the wife of a tavern owner and ends up dead. The second case describes the seduction of an 18-year year old woman by a longtime family friend. Her brother shoots and kills the man.

Albany: Packard & Van Benthuysen, 1827. 178 pp. Printed paper covered boards are detached. Interior foxing and wear. An attempt to counter rumors about Mother Ann and other early believers. R1421.

A very good copy with minor rubbing and wear to the binding and some interior foxing. This copy has the ownership label of Sister Olive Draper (1773-1849) who was a Hancock Shaker Sister. The second printing of the first Shaker hymnal. The first edition printed in 1812 is impossible to find.

Canaan Four Corners: Press of the Berkshire Industrial Farm, 1903. 27 pp. Good with a small chip to the spine. This includes a speech White gave at a meeting of the Equal Rights Club of Hartford, Connecticut. White was a Shaker sister and part of the progressive North Family at Mt. Lebanon. She was a vegetarian, pacifist and a believer of equal rights for all. Ericson, 8126.

Boston, Newburyport: Weeks, Jordan & Co, 1840. Third. 296 pp. Stains, wear, and foxing. There are numbering mistakes on a few pages, but the book is complete. This third edition seems to be unique and has a label affixed to the front cover for the Weeks, Jordan Co. They likely published this from the plates of the second edition. Only two copies of the second edition are in institutional collection and none of this third edition.

Philadelphia: David McKay, 1888. 404 pp. Binding lightly soiled and worn. Some penciled check marks to the table of contents. A fairly scare edition of Whitman's poems.

This broadsheet lists times for trains from Boston to Albany where you can take trains to Western New York, Ohio, and other points west. or catch a steamer in Buffalo. The verso has a map of various routes west as far as Wisconsin and Missouri.

Utica: William Williams, 1830. Good condition with the having been backed. Minor loss along the folds and corners of the map.

London: The Cosmopolitan Publishing Co, 1906. 74 pp. Third edition. Wilson-Bonchord was imprisoned for forgery. While in prison, like Oscar Wilde, Wilson-Bonchord was denied paper. He sent various appeals for paper which were denied. Discoloration to the covers. Good condition.

Rapid City, D.T.: Rapid City Republican, 1886. 8"x 15". Broadsheet. This speech promoted the Rapid City area of South Dakota and is unrecorded. Some wear and loss but good condition.
