Author's first book signed and inscribed "To My Friend Ellsworth Young with my best regard" and dated 1895.. It is likely that Young inscribed (on the half-title) his update to Dante's Inferno to "my friend" to clarify in advance that Ellsworth Young was not a relative. Young would later become famous for his cartoons and illustrations in Masses and The Liberator. This work was preceded (1892) by a DeLuxe issue, while this 1893 issue was issued in cloth and in paper wraps. ; Oblong Small Quarto; 82 pp .
