Description:
A 2 Vols. set first published by Locke Ellis, London in 1910, and 1910-1911. Both BOOKS are in near Fine condition. Bound in full blue buckram, with vellum spines lettered in gilt. The spines are remarkably clean. Top edge gilt with other edges uncut and lightly toned. Some offsetting and spotting to the blank end-papers. Free from inscriptions and erasures. Very small 'Times Book Club ' stickers to the lower rear pastedowns.The WRAPPERS are complete and are in Very Good++ or better condition with just a little loss and rubbing at the spine tips. Some toning to the spine and the edges of the covers and flap folds. The cover artwork by Maxwell Armfield looks very striking in the removable brodart archival covers. Each volume contains six issues of the periodical. There were only twelve issues of this periodical in total. Description:
The First UK printing published by Macmillan And Co., London in 1929 The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Neat contemporary inscription to the upper front blank end paper. Just a hint of edge wear. Gilt top-stain and titling remain very bright. Light offsetting to the end-papers. Some spotting to the text-block with a little light spotting to the prelims and the edges of a few pages. The engraved title-vignette is by Sargent and the upper board is blocked in blind to an elaborate art deco design by Ricketts. Only 1500 copies were printed with some poems included that had not been published previously(Wade 165). The erratum slip is not present. Protected by a loose Mylar archival cover. Extremely scarce in this condition. Ashton Rare Books welcomes direct contact.

This is the First UK printing of this edition published by Macmillan, London in 1916. The BOOK is in near Fine condition. Original blue cloth boards with striking gilt embossed design to the spine and front board by Sturge Moore. Light pushing at the spine ends with just a little toning to the text-block. Internally free from inscriptions with just some mild offsetting to the blank end-papers. The scarce WRAPPER is complete and is in Very Good++ or better condition. Light edge-wear with a little rubbing at the corners and spine tips. A small closed tear to the upper rear spine fold. Only light toning to the spine and folds and much less than usually encountered. Some light spotting in places. The original GLASSINE wrapper is present and is in near Fine condition with just tiny loss in places. The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. The First Printing published by The Dun Emer Press, Dundrum in 1903. One of only 325 copies printed. The BOOK is in Very Good+ condition. Linen over boards with a complete paper label on the upper cover. Cloth is foxed as usually encountered. Some light bubbling on the upper board edges. Moderate offsetting to the prelims and light toning to some page edges. Free from inscriptions and erasures. A neat Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown. Many pages remain uncut. The first book published by the Dun Emer Press and Yeats later commented to John Quinn that this was 'the first book of mine that it is a pleasure to look at - a pleasure whether open or shut'. It contains the first publication of 'On Baile's Strand', a play founded on a story called "The son of Aoiffe' in Lady Gregory's 'Cuchulain of Muirthemne'. Protected in a loose Mylar cover. Original publisher's olive-green cloth, spine and upper cover lettered and elaborately decorated in gilt with one of Thomas Sturge Moore's most striking cover engravings, depicting Ballylee and its reflection. All edges are untrimmed. Free from inscriptions and internally very clean. Light pushing at the spine tips. The scarce WRAPPER is complete and is in near Fine condition. The sea-green pictorial wrapper is printed in black and repeats Sturge Moore's cover design. It is correctly priced '6/- net' to the lower front flap. A little toning and slight rubbing in places to the spine. The wrapper has undergone some expert professional restoration to the extreme spine tips and it now presents as a very striking example in the removable Brodart archival cover.
