Collins, London, 1950,. see description. first edition, 288pp, frontis of Field-Marshal Rommel and 10 other photographs on art paper, (mostly personal family photographs including one of a young Rommel in the first World War, a map of the Western Desert Battle Fields and one of the El Alamein Position, a two-colour line map of the northern part of France and the English Channel on front endpapers, and one of North Africa and the Mediterranean Sea on those at the back, publisher's boards rubbed all edges of spine and on corners, spine slightly faded with a few marks, the Nazi eagle gilt on upper board, a few spots on cut fore-edge but, not encroaching on margins, the text pages clean and vg.
