The Rimsky-Korsakov Fantasy on Two Russian Themes (1887) was later revised and elaborated by Leopold Auer. The Wieniawski Concert Polonaise (1852-53) displays a level of virtuosity and understanding of the instrument that only a great performr-composer could produce.
