The ship was active throughout World War II, with service ranging from convoy escort to shore bombardment to engaging enemy battleships. She was sold in 1946 and scrapped in 1949. One of Ramillies' 15-inch (381 mm) guns has been preserved and can be seen at the Imperial War Museum in London. The ship's bell is preserved at HMCS Star, a Naval Reserve Division at Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
