One of the Hasegawa "Japanese Fairy Tale Series". Large 32mo (3 ½ x 6 in – 10.0 x 15.2 cm). Takejiro Hasegawa, editor, 17 Kami Negishi-cho, Shitaya-ku, Tokio. Ca. 1911 (undated, 2nd edition). 18 pages on 9 folded leaves. Illustrations by Kobayashi Eitaku, translated by David Thomson.
A crepe paper book ("chirimen-bon") with silk thread tied four stab hole "yamato toji" binding, and with folded crepe paper sheets. Illustrated with color wood block prints in bright colors.
Excellent condition given the age, no creasing, no cuts, no soiling. Spine covering intact. Stab ties intact. Please consider the photos.
