Near Fine copy of Baedeker's Handbook for Travellers with 72 maps, 19 plans and 12 panoramas with the very scarce original dust jacket.
Book is near Fine. Soft leather boards are in Fine condition having been protected by DJ. Binding is in very good condition.
Edges marbled. Internally clean free of foxing, markings or inscriptions except for previous owner name in pencil on title page and previous sale price and year in pencil on half title.
DJ has age related wear with chipping at extremities and closed tears at folds (see images).
A very scarce title with DJ particularly in such condition. It includes rare publisher's slip on detaching sections, if desired.

Very good copy of the third edition of Baedeker's Handbook for Travellers. This is the last edition of this handbook for Lower Egypt. 14 maps, 33 plans, 7 views and 76 vignettes. Book is very good. Soft leather boards clean. Binding tight. Edges marbled. Light cracking of hinge inside front cover but still very firm (see images).Cover has very small wear at corners and head and tail of spine.Only marking or inscription is name and address of previous owner in pencil on first blank with previous sale price and edition also in pencil. Tiny bookseller label on front pastedown.
Overall, a well preserved copy of an uncommon title.

Baedeker's Handbook for Travellers. 1955. Twenty first edition with 19 maps and plans and 109 sketches. Lovely near Fine copy in clean cloth covered flexible boards. Two ribbon markers. Internally clean. No markings or inscriptions except for tiny marking in pencil on first blank (see photos).
Laid in is contemporary map of Central London (may have been attached at some stage). Very well preserved.
A lovely quaint copy from nearly sixty years ago.

A Chandos novel, regarded by many as Yates's best, this February 1940 reprint is in lovely condition with the distinctive H&S yellow jacket.
Book is Very Good at least with clean cloth bound blue boards. Mild rubbing to spine head and tail. Internally clean. No foxing or markings except for very old previous sale price in pencil on first blank. Top edge of text block a little dusty (age related).
DJ is very good. Not price clipped and showing only minor wear at extremities. Rear panel is somewhat dust dulled. Now in a protective removable sleeve.
In short, a really lovely copy. Scarce with DJ and in such condition. More photos can be provided.
