In the interval, I spent considerable time checking measurements at the sites of two large bridges - Mountain Creek, and Cedar Creek - and familiarizing myself with them, as the laying out and superintending the building of these bridges was to be my work for the winter." P. Turner Bone, CPR Mountain Division foreman, 1884-86. Photo measures 5.25 x 7.75 inches wide, mounted onto heavy card measuring 6.5 x 8.25 inches wide, ink caption under photo reads "High trestle bridge, over Ceader [sp.] Creek". Photo w. some light scratches, scuffs and tiny abrasions to emulsion, card mount has some toning along bottom edge and a rough, unfinished surface verso. Cedar Creek bridge was one of many wooden trestle bridges built through the mountainous Selkirk Range, in BC, that were replaced by steel bridges in the 1890s.

Lowe in California where passengers would transfer from the tramway to the funicular car for the steep ride up Mt. Lowe. Gelatin silver print with white borders, 8 inches tall x 5 inches wide, with "Great Cable Incline, Mt. Lowe, Cal. / 482 / Best & Co." written in negative along bottom edge. Print w. creases, chips [corners mostly gone] and small edge tears, verso with some toning evident at upper left corner, an institutional rubber stamp, ink name and numbers. A famous California tourist destination, with this c. 1895 image showing both Lowe's tramway and his loaded funicular car. A postally unused card with unutilized seal still attached, printed on both sides of a single sheet of white/peach-colored paper (7 inches tall x 12-5/8 inches wide), postcard obverse, twice folded to achive postcard size with two photo reproductions - one of a Redwood tree and the other of the Redwood Forest on The Enchanted Trail, Hwy 101 in Northern California. Three circa 1925 gelatin silver panoramic photographs, all measuring 4-1/2 inches tall x 11 inches wide [or reverse] titled and numbered respectively in negative : No. 103 ["Redwood Highway, Calif"] ; 113 ["Redwood Highway, Calif"] ; and 119 ["On the Redwood Highway, Calif"] with Patterson signature type #3 and white borders. Photos with some toning, light wear and soil, versos with the rubber stamp of "Endert's Drug Store" and an [ex] institutional rubber stamp. Uncommon images and format, showing an as yet unpaved highway and the spectacular views along the Redwood Highway. Images accompanied by an institutional letter of deaccession. None of these panoramic views [or any other "100" series images for that matter] were found in "A Patterson Postcard Checklist and Workbook" by Robert I.
