A bifolium from a gargantuan Atlantic Bible, each leaf 510mm x 355mm., with Tobit 11:8-Judith 8:26, double column, 40 lines in brown ink in a professional rounded Romanesque bookhand, simple initials and running titles in red, some holes with significant losses to one column of first leaf, Italy, mid-twelfth century. 1280. No Binding. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Fragment 238mm x 190mm. Vellum, probably France, late thirteenth century. This is an index to a text of canon law; it is possibly Sebald? Intricate rubricated initials in blue and fine red work with red caps at the start of almost each line. Left hand of front is dusty and shows the remains of a recovered binding piece, otherwise clarity is very good on both sides.

1250. No Binding. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 155mm x 128mm. Fragment on vellum in a neat C13th hand rubricated in red and blue. Comestor's 'Historia Scholastica' commentary on the end of Genesis and the chapters of Exodus. What is interesting about this piece is that the numerals are Arabic and not Roman.

Small folio. Full original polished leather with raised bands. [36], 432,435-735, [15]pp. Collates complete and text is continuous despite erratic pagination. Engraved architectural title page. A very good copy with good margins and clean text pages over a solid text block.

Engraved title page in architectural border. Woodcut initials and headpieces. Text is crisp with some browning and minor spots. Title is trimmed to fore and lower edges. Marginal tear from lower outer corner R1. Original leather boards rebacked over raised bands with hand lettered label. Overall a very good and handsome copy. Arthur Hildersam was an English Puritan 1563-1632.

3 x intage gelatin silver prints, mounted and unframed taken by Paul Goldman in 1948. Photographs showing the 'Nakba' or 'catastrophe' when 700,000 Palestinians were expelled from their homeland in 1948. Specifically these photos show the transfer of 1,004 refugees from Fureidis to Arab-held territory. Corners bumped, press caption, marks and stamps to verso. Dated 27, November 1948.

Print size is 7" x 9" or 17cm x 23cm. Recently window mounted in archival acid-free mount which is 12" x 14" or 30cm x 35cm. The whole then in archival acid-free clear sleeve to protect the print with a separate printed copy of the label for reference.

London. Printed and sold by the Booksellers in Town and Country., 1738. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 6½"x4¼" (17cm x 12cm). Original full blind stamped leather board rebacked. Portrait plate faces title page + A-Qq4 pages; each sermon is separately paginated; the book is complete. Endpapers have some browning and ink inscriptions. The portrait and title page show evidence of a tape repair which has now been restored. The date has been shaved at the base of the title page leaving the top part of the Roman numerals visible. Some light foxing / light browning in the text which is otherwise clean and crisp. This is the first edition of this very early set of sermons and the only one published in 1738. It was then re-published 3 times in 1739 and only once more in 1745. A rare collection published just 3 years after Whitefield's conversion and held in a handful of Institutional Libraries. Large folio. A superb copy, fine, clean, wide margins and crisp pages. A complete copy with the full page engraved portrait of Baxter together with the engraved title page and four sectional title pages. Original boards, finely re-backed over raised bands, label.Richard Baxter was a leading Nonconformist minister of the English C17th who, after the Restoration refused preferment and spent time in prison for his beliefs. He was known during his time and since as a pastoral shepherd of his flock in his local parish of Kidderminster, Worcestershire.

Portrait of Taylor facing title, frayed around the edges and browning at the edges of the first dozen or so pages. [16], 208, 219-855 [11]pp Wide margins, text within rules. Very good. Original leather boards sometime rebacked in full leather raised bands.

[6], 66, 1318, [18]pp 3 folded plates present as called for. Textually very good with good margins and crisp pages. The binding is original early boards later rebacked with raised bands and label. The edges of the book are decorated with stamped gauffered edges. Roberts was a Calvinistic Puritan from Yorkshire, England.

Parchment, a substantially complete leaf, c.310×230mm, the corners and inner margin cropped to allow mitering, with the loss of a few letters at some line-ends but otherwise apparently preserving the full width of the outer and lower margins, ruled in drypoint for two columns of 37 lines written above top line, in a fine rounded Caroline bookhand, marginal notes are keyed to the appropriate places by the use of a triple dot or a crossed 7 sign, inscribed in the lower margin in modern pencil HIERONYMUS [In?] Isaiam . Recovered from use as the cover of a binding as shown by the mitering at the corners, the creases for the turn-ins, the horizontal creases marking the spine of the host volume, the comparative darkness of the outer face, and the remains of a title in 18th(?)-century script on what would have been the front cover.
