Cover is heavily edgeworn, browned, and has spots of soil as well as some scotch tape that held a label across the spine. Both front and rear covers are starting to tear at the joints with the spine but are still well attached. Bottom forecorner of book is moderately bumped. 271 pages. Laid in are two items: 1.) three typed pages with a Salinas poem (""Timeless Presence"") translated by Edith Helman and Norma Farber, with a handwritten note to that effect, and 2.) a professionally printed single sheet with a Salinas poem (""Saint out of Wood"") also translated by Helman and Farber and folded in two. The latter has the feel of a tribute or funeral program item and is inscribed by Edith and numbered 10/200. Collectible.

Flaws include overall age toning / minor foxing, soil, and a detached front cover (could be repaired). Cover is also missing large chips from the spine piece. 222 pages. With numerous illustrations. In Spanish.

El Colegio de Mexico, 1985. SOFTCOVER. Good+. 1985 paperback. Inscribed (presumably by the author) on the first blank page. Some creasing in the upper two inches of the cover and first 18 pages. Two deep reading creases to spine (book falls open at those spots), but because binding is sewn it is still relatively sound. Mild age tanning to pages, and moderate age tanning to spine and back cover. Text is clean and unmarked. Very usable. 446 pages. In Spanish.
