Lee & Shepherd, 1865 A quite exceptional copy bound in decorative red cloth [1865], early reprint.A partially unread copy without the expected abuse of nearly 160 years. 365 pp plus 10 pp ads.

London: Hutchinson& Co., 1963 Cold War thriller and the basis for the 1964 movie starring Henry Fonda and directed bySidney Lumet. Slightly cocked, old tapestain and name crossed out inside front cover, first few pages show light crease. Jacket shows slight edge wear and a 3/4" tear on back.

N.k. Fairbank, 1916 Original Wraps. A 5 1/4"high by 7 1/4" wide 52 page booklet advertising Fairy Soap. Denslow illustrated 26 full pages plus the cover. One tip of the corner of three leaves lightly curled. A great piece for the advertising and/or Denslow collector.

Platt and Munk, 1932 Bound in red cloth with front pastedown of Cinderella running down the stairs behind white rats and a rolling pumpkin.

Ft. Wayne: Self Published, 1880 238 page book plus 2 pages of ads by Mason Long, the converted gambler. This is a study of one of the vices of the time and its causes. Book is bound in red cloth with gilt lettering and black decorations. There is a spine lean and one sig is now loose [easily repairable]. A scarce, if not rare book.

Smithsburg, MD: Self published, 1973 Bound in green cloth with gilt cover titles, pages not numbered. Touch of wear at the tips, else near fine.

Self published, 1949 This is a 92 page genealogy whose pages were printed in August, 1946 but never trimmed and bound into book form. Surnames also include Bontrager, Byler, Detwiler, Frazer, Carpenter, Christner, Corlentz, Miller, Pippinger, Postma, Price, Schlabach, Schmucker, Schrock, Sheets, Mullet, Shetler, Stutzman, Troyer, Weirich and Yoder. Pages are tanned. There is a small damp stain on hte fore edge of a few leaves and minor bumping.

Little Brown, 1928 Attractive copy bound in red cloth with gilt titles. Light foxing on a very few pages [a quick perusal finds some on three pages]. A history of the great fights from an earlier time.

1968 Stapled paperback in nice state of preservation. Cover has pictures of Carl Yaztrezemski and Roberto Clemente, 64 pages, illustrated with many photos.

Carbonnek, 1923 This #95 of 1050 copies signed by Machen. Velum spine over blue boards. Spine is browned, one tip worn through, light foxing first few pages. Internally fine.

Simon & Schuster, 1935 Vanderbilt's autobiography written at the age of 35. He covers his military history in WWI, his growing up in opulence, associations with the crowned heads of Europe and the ultra-rich Americans like The Carnegies, Mellons, Morgans Astors, etc., meeting Al Capone, Hitler, presidents of the United States from Roosevelt to Roosevelt and many others. This book is his statement of belief that the society of his youth was ending and his separation from it. There is a lengthy inscription in pencil; To Josephine Sibley /with all good wishes/ and I'm sorry we / Didn't have a dance! Neil Vanderbilt/ Feb 1935. Jacket is chipped at spine extremities and at the top back. I suspect this Josephine Sibley is Josephine Sibley Couper, wealthy socialite and artist. Neil was the nickname Cornelius employed among his close friends.

1918 Early directory of Elkhart county partially disbound.All the pages related directly to Elkhart are present but missing two leaves in the preliminaries pp 7.8 and 9,10. A number of other pages are chipped. Book is suitable for reference or research but not in collectible condition

Simon & Schuster, 1946 This is a Giant Golden Book, stated first edition, with 50 original stories by K and B Jackson and 100 color illustrations by Tenggren. Book is clean, bright and tight, jacket is missing most of the front flap, has a large closed tear in rear flap and chips at the spine extremities. It is in a mylar cover and does display well.

Henry Altemus, 1905 Five volumes in the Altemus Children of the Bible series. The first four are in dust jacket.The Farmer Boy is near fine in near fine jacket light soil]; Captive boy Near fine in like jacket [1/4" tear and two nicks;Adopted Son and Shepherd boy are very good in good jacket [chips, small tears]; Favorite Son is very good but without jacket. The four in jacket are uniformly bound.

New York : Covici Friede Bound in orange covers in mustard color jacket with red titles. No date stated, so early edition in jacket which is chipped and rubbed.

Thomas B. Mosher, 1907 This is one of 450 cc. Evidence of book plate removal inside front cover, some darkening to the spine, else fine.

Limited Editions Club, 1932 Bound in maroon boards with gilt decorations, this number 488 and is signed by the illustrator. This copy is rubbed at the tips and has a small bump on the bottom front board, lacking slipcase.

Houghton Mifflin, 1944 Cute flap book by the author of Curious George with a happy lion in a cage getting ready to be fed by the zoo keeper. This is bound with a cloth spine over stapled paper. The front cover has a faint crease in one corner, otherwise a very good copy.
