" Containing nearly 10000 selected scientific, chemical, technical and household recipes, formulas and processes for use in the laboratory, the office, the workshop and in the home."  I have seen many other home encyclopedias but none quite like this, because it has very in-depth scientific knowledge along with layman explanations. Bookplate of Frederick S Blackall, likely Frederick Steele Blackall,  A prominent mechanical engineer of the time Who was president and chairman of Taft-Pierce Manufacturing Company and the 72nd president of the American society of mechanical engineers. "Testimonial by the king of Nepal, preface by Arnold Toynbee, introduction by Sir Edmund Hillary" The photographs within this volume are absolutely stunning and still pop with their color.  The binding does have some weakness to it, as shown, but everything remains intact. A remarkably large book with a sturdy Box/dust cover which seals in by mini picks that would be used by mountaineering folk. Pretty fun. Hartford: The S. J. Clarke Publishing Company, 1928. Leather. Good. History Of Hartford County Connecticut De Luxe Supplement, Persons And Portraits. While I am not sure exactly where this book originated, due to its statement of being a supplement, it is an absolutely beautiful collection of historical persons from Hartford county, Connecticut. Each person is given a portrait on a full page and a few pages of text to describe their lives. The padded leather is still in great shape with only somewhere to the corners. Pages themselves are also in great shape with no Browning or foxing. Binding and hinges are fully intact. No major defects. Let me know if you have any questions or if you desire more photos. london: d. ogilvy and j. speare, 1793. Leather. Good. History Of Charles XII King Of Sweden, 1793 D. Ogilvy and J. Speare. A good, sound copy with some wear, especially to corners. Binding is solid and hinges are fair (not cracked, but with too much use they will crack i.e. don't push them too much). A later printing done by a fairly rare and obscure publisher, ogilvy and speare. They seemed to operate for only about a decade before splitting, and only published a few volumes.
