With original pre-publication flyer loosely inserted. ‘Icones selectae Fungorum’ presents species of fungi which are mostly rare and not usually found. Originally published between 1924 and 1937, this is a faithfull facsimile. Paul Konrad, the Swiss mycologist was responsible for the plates and their descriptions, whilst Andre Maublanc revised the work and completed the sixth volume. Each plate depicts between one and four species.

The Italian naturalist Francesco Minà Palumbo (1814-1899) conducted many studies in Madonie, a mountainous area in the middle of the northern Sicilian coast and made drawings of everything he saw. The ability to illustrate any kind of object or living creature allowed Francesco Minà Palumbo to create a large body of valuable scientific drawings. He wrote nothing on the subject, but his drawings are an important source of useful information. All plates in this edition are accompanied by descriptions, information on distribution, blooming times, etc.
