The novels would be rediscovered and republished by Naiad Press in 1983, and are now considered to have been some of the earliest fictional works to depict lesbian relationships in a positive (and, many argue, accurate) light. New York: Grove Press, 1969. Collection of six vintage studio still photographs from the US release of the 1967 Swedish film. Vilgot Sjoman's controversial erotic drama, utilizing both dramatic and documentary filmmaking techniques, stars Sjoman's then lover, actress Lena Nyman, as a young theater student examining the social and political mores of 1960s Sweden, and her own sexuality. Parallel is the plot of the actors and filmmakers reacting as themselves to the film they are in the process of making. Seized by customs upon entry to the US and banned from numerous US cities for sexually explicit scenes, it was found, in 1969, not to be obscene by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, opening the door to more frank and explicit subject matter in American film. London: National Screen Service, 1972. Vintage full-color British front-of-house card from the UK release of the 1972 French film. A portrayal of dancers and their dedication rather than the glamour of performance itself. 8 x 10 inches. Very Good plus, with pinholes at the corners, with a few light creases.

N.p.: Trans American Films, 1970. Original US one sheet poster for the 1970 British film. One of director Ford's tame films, as he would eventually do more pornographic films in the late 1970s. Sex, drugs, and rock n' roll abound, and the decade is well represented. Esme Johns' only film title, as "Sally," the groupie, and she is poignantly captured her in a green skirt atop her suitcases. 27 x 41 inches, folded. Studio stamp on the verso. Very Good plus, with a few pinholes, closed tears, and light creases.

Vintage Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World (IBPOEW) sign, with the traditional Benevolent Protective Order of Elks (BPOE) elk's head and "Eleven O'clock Toast" depicted, and with "Copyright by Geo. E. Jessup 1934 A.D." printed in small text above the decorative border on the lower left. The IBPOEW., an African American fraternal order modeled after the BPOE, was established by B.F. Howard and Arthur J. Riggs in Cincinnati in 1897, after being refused admission to the BPOE because of race. Copy belonging to Dane Anderson, an uncredited member of the crew, with his name on the front wrapper of the script breakdown, and annotations throughout, in manuscript pencil. File copy, rubber-stamped on the front wrapper. Based on Weidman's 1937 novel, and Vera Caspary's loose adaptation. Harriet Boyd (Hayward) is a fashion designer who partners with Teddy (Dailey), whom she loves, and Sam (Jaffe), and starts a new business dedicated to selling affordable women's dresses. A rival fashion company lead by Noble (Sanders) momentarily distracts Harriet, but at the last minute she realizes her true devotion to Teddy and Sam. Ms. Smith went on the write "The Story of the 101 Dalmations." Near Fine with a bright lavender topstain, in a Very Good plus dust jacket. Small owner name stamp and date of 1949, with a matching personal library entry stamp on the copyright page. Jacket shows no loss, with just a bit of nicking and rubbing here and there, a lightly faded spine (backstrip same), and a tiny date stamp of 1949 on the spine panel. A very pleasing copy overall.

Director Akira Kurosawa's final film collaboration with longtime composer Fumio Hayasaka, made shortly before Hayasaka's death in 1955 of tuberculosis. White titled perfect-bound wrappers.
