First edition of this psychoanalytic journal featuring original contributions from Freud and his most important students. From the estate of Ernest S. Wolf (former psychoanalyst at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis). Includes: XX 1934 Hefte 2-4, XXI 1935 Hefte 1-4, XXII 1936 Hefte 1-4, XXIII 1937 Hefte 1-4. All text in German. Magazines are in remarkably good shape in original printed yellow wrappers. Pages are largely unmarked with a few underlined sentences in one copy and previous owner's name pencilled onto some front covers. A few copies have uncut pages remaining. Bindings are intact with some separating here and there. Covers show some edgewear with creasing and small tears. Some scuffing along spines and light chipping to spine ends on copies from 1934 and 1935.

Jacket protected in mylar and is not price clipped. Shows almost no signs of shelf wear other than some very faint staining to top page edge and softening to spine ends. Binding is sound, but spine starting to become concave. Overall, a very crisp copy.

Harper & Brothers, 1884. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair/poor/None. First edition. Pages are tanned and foxed. Pages 95/96 are torn. Pages 15/16 are fully detached from binding. Previous owner's inscription is lightly pencilled on front endpaper. Boards are heavily scuffed and edgeworn. Corners are bumped and buckram is worn away. Spine ends are softened, chipped, and frayed. Binding is loose and separating throughout, and hinges are cracked.

Pages are clean, bright and unmarked aside from previous owner's blind stamp on front endpaper. Boards are firm and even and spine is tight and square, with no evident shelf wear. Hinges are secure.

Jacket is price clipped and rear liner flap has a small area where a price tag or sticker was partially removed. Some closed tears, creases and chipping to edges of jacket. Mild rubbing to jacket faces. Boards are straight and clean, binding is tight and spine is square. The first few pages has impression and mild discoloration due to a paper clip that was once present. Otherwise, all pages are clean and unmarked though tanned.

Barnes & Noble Books, 1993. Hardcover. Near fine/Near fine. No markings. Binding is firm and square. Two small stains on jacket at bottom right corner of back jacket and front jacket.

Boards are rubbed and edgeworn, with bumped corners and softened spine ends. Gilt lettering on front cover and spine is chipped and faded. Binding is starting throughout but otherwise secure.

Spine is square and binding is very tight. Pages are clean and unmarked, though tanned. Faint crease on front cover along spine. High school stamp on inside of front cover.

All pages are bright, clean and unmarked. Bindings are very loose with joints and spines cracked in three of the volumes. Heavy rubbing and shelf wear to boards. They're still very readable or will look great for shabby chic decor.

Leather bound with floral imprints on boards. Gilt lettering on front board and spine and gilt edges which are fading. Heavy rubbing on board edges and spine. Spine ends badly chipped. Back hinge cracked with webbing visible.

Pages are unmarked except for previous owner's ex libris sticker on front pastedown. Binding is partially cracked at bottom of front endpapers. Boards are slightly bowed but otherwise clean. Reading ribbon is frayed and softened. Dust jacket is browned and has moderate wear to edges with small chips and rips at corners and spine ends. One larger rip on back top edge.

Very faint glass ring mark on front board. Wrap has worn away on very ends of board corners.

All pages are clean and unmarked. Gorgeous vintage paper labels on spine, gold gilt top edge and deckled fore-edge and bottom edge. Very minor shelf wear to boards moderate chipping to spine labels. Most front hinges are cracked, but bindings still remain firm and square. Some staining to bottom page edge of Prince Zilah.
