Ron Hunt, then the Fine Art Librarian at Newcastle University (he had originally been invited up to Newcastle by Richard Hamilton in 1963), helped form a collective of dissenting students which called themselves Icteric. The group was to include the twins David and Stuart Wise, who would go on to form the underground Situationist faction King Mob. The Icteric group set about working against the art school elitism encountered within the art department in Newcastle. With this photo-story, Blume concocts a bizarrely distorted world of instability and the supernatural. Provides an early glimpse of the ‘Blumenvase’ which was to appear in the artist’s later works.

The only number published of Image, the magazine edited and designed by Hans-Peter Feldmann, and printed in the format of a broadsheet newspaper. It was published on the occasion of Feldmann’s exhibition at InK, Halle für Internationale neue Kunst in Zürich. Feldmann’s newspaper consists entirely of monochrome photographic reproductions. Feldmann's reservoir of images spans the wide world of kitsch, movies, and photo-journalism a trove that reflects the allure of advertising, as well as the banality of the (petit bourgeois) everyday. With his pictures in ‘Image’ Feldmann attempts to disrupt the established use and status of pictures in art and in the public print-media. Cologne.: Géza Perneczky., 1973. Sheets loose in original wrappers, as issued.. (29.5 x 21 cm).. pp. (7 loose sheets; 9 loose sheets). Printed rectos only. Magazine produced by Géza Pernczky, with conceptual works and video performances by Hungarian and Czech artists. “Important Business will appear three times a year. It has been compiled by Géza Perneczky. Each number contains works by people living or having grown up in East European countries who represent the spesific (sic) problems of their lives and professions”. Only these two issues were produced. The first issue presents Perneczky’s Dialektische Strategie, and a reprint of Jiri Kocman’s Bipolar Analysis of Square, whilst the second issue presents Karoly Halasz’s early video work Modulated Television, as well as Perneczky’s Modulated Person. Institutionally scarce.

Twelve issues over seven years may not appear to be a particularly impressive output, but it is difficult to overemphasise the influence and significance of Interfunktionen during and after its brief existence. Dissenting from the new 'art-as-commodity' attitude expressed at Arnold Bode’s documenta 4, Interfunktionen magazine, edited by Fritz Heubach in Cologne, was an interdisciplinary effort among activist artists to promote European art and ideas without bowing to the era’s increasingly commercial trends. Previous owner’s inscription on cover and initial page.. (23.2 x 18.2 cm).. pp. 106. Black-and-white illustrations throughout. First edition. The first title in the legendary Bauhausbücher series. Includes examples of modern architecture by Peter Behrens, Le Corbusier, Mart Stam, Mies van der Rohe and the Luckhardt brothers. Like most of the Bauhausbücher, this first issue was completed in 1924, but the printing and edition did not take place until 1925 after the Bauhaus had moved from Weimar to Dessau. Cover design and typography by Moholy-Nagy.
