John Churchill the 1st Duke of Marlborough, (1650-1722) was a British statesman and general (victor at the Battle of Blenheim 1714), This small paperback volume was one of a series of popular biographies of eminent British historical figures It is ex-library, with just a small label on the base of the spine and a bookplate on the inside cover It is otherwise however in very good condition, with only normal browning of the cover, given its age.

Washington, D.C.: U.S. Government Priinting Office, 1964. First. Hardcover. Fine. After President Kennedy was assassinated in November 1963, there was a great outpouring of eulogies in every forum.  Virtually every member of Congress at the time made a memorial address on the floor of Congress.  This volume collects all of those speeches, as well as several speeches that President Johnson made during the few weeks after the assassination. This copy is fine in black cloth with gitl titles on the spine and gilt titles and US emblem on the front cover.  No marks or damage at all.  Appears unread and could pass for new. DG.

A very good copy with brown cloth spine on orange paper boards and gilt titles on spine The book itself is in near fine condition, but it is ex-library, and has library labels on the front endpaper and the rear pastedown, making it just very good The dust jacket is actually near fine, being in a protective mylar cover, with the only exception being a library bar code label on the top of the back (The green library label visible in the photo on the lower spine is actually on the mylar cover and not on the dust jacket itself) 337 pp.

The Voyage of the Beagle is the title most commonly given to the book written by Charles Darwin and published in 1839 as his Journal and Remarks, bringing him considerable fame and respect. This was the third volume of The Narrative of the Voyages of H.M. Ships Adventure and Beagle, the other volumes of which were written or edited by the commanders of the ships. Journal and Remarks covers Darwin's part in the second survey expedition of the ship HMS Beagle. Due to the popularity of Darwin's account, the publisher reissued it later in 1839 as Darwin's Journal of Researches, and the revised second edition published in 1845 used this title. A republication of the book in 1905 introduced the title The Voyage of the "Beagle", by which it is now best known.
