On opposite pages is an original cartoon by Neal, drawn under the dedication.

The binding is square and the textblock is tight and the text is unmarked. The blue cloth covers are heavily rubbed with spine tips chipped. The gilt lettering is quite legible. There are 2 difficult-to-decipher inscriptions, one on the ffe verso, the other laid in. The author Bowes is mentioned in the one laid in.
