The white buckram label is firmly pasted to the spine and is generally bright. The internals are generally bright but with some slight toning. The rough-cut text blocks are bright and white, but again with slight toning. The author's signature is on the front flyleaf, inscribed in black ink. Overall, this is a very good copy.

This copy is free from inscriptions and is, overall, in near fine condition. The winner of the 1984 James Tait Black Memorial Prize for fiction.
