Allen and Moffat were members of the Crazy Gang, a group of British entertainers formed in the 1930s and popular throughout the wartime years. The gang produced a string of comedy films directed by Marcel Varnel, "O-Kay for Sound" being the first, followed by "Alf's Button Afloat" in 1938, "The Frozen Limits" in 1939, "Gasbags" in 1941, and "Life is a Circus" in 1958. 10 x 8 inches. An utterly obsessive, minutely detailed examination of Spanish exploitation director Jess Franco's illustrious career, divided into two sections: an extensive, photo-illustrated filmography that includes analysis and reproductions of even the most obscure country-of-origin posters and advertisement for each film, and a set of interviews by Franco's contemporaries (and Franco himself), including Howard Vernon, Jack Taylor, William Berger, and others. Profusely photo-illustrated throughout, with great tribute paid to the director's rarely-clothed, and rarely-sane leading ladies. While firmly in the pit of the horror-exploitation tradition, Franco distinguished himself by way of his colorful themes, which included lesbian vampires, women in prison, surgical horror, zombies, nuns, sadomasochism, and even cannibalism. The second filmed version of Bierce's short story (the first one, titled "The Bridge," was made by Charles Vidor in 1929), virtually unknown, preceding both the well known 1959 version filmed for the fifth season of Rod Serling's "The Twilight Zone" and the French version made in 1962 by Robert Enrico. Burbank, CA: Warner Brothers, 1959. Draft script for the 1960 film "Ocean's Eleven," seen here as "Oceans Eleven or And the Angels Sing." Copy belonging to actor Peter Lawford, with his name on the front wrapper and his manuscript annotations throughout. Lawford owned the rights to the film, and accompanying this script is a signed note written on his wife's stationery that reads: "Oceans 11 / $10,000 / 50-50- / P. Lawford," a copy of a contract between Lawford and talent agent Milton Ebbins, and a clipping of a full-page advertisement for the film from "Variety" magazine. A classic and well-loved heist film, "Ocean's Eleven" is the quintessential Rat Pack picture, in which a group of World War II veterans attempts a series of high-profile casino robberies in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve. Steven Soderbergh directed a popular 2001 remake of the film (with two sequels), starring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon. These programs saw popularity beginning in the 1960s and continued to be produced until the early 1980s and the ever-growing VHS market, with a particularly high distribution in Asian countries. This example features several full-color pages, on-the-set images, and biographies of the cast and crew, as well as an illustration of Moore and his Bond girl on the front wrapper. Based on Ian Fleming's 1966 novel, "Octopussy and The Living Daylights," his final Bond novel. James Bond (Moore) is on assignment to uncover a jewel-smuggling operation, headed by the lovely Octopussy (Adams), that may be a front for a planned nuclear attack. 9 x 11.75 inches, saddle-stapled color illustrated wrappers, 10 leaves. To grapple with his anxiety he introduces his daughter's boyfriend, a handsome doctor, to his younger wife. The jealousy and voyeurism that follow invigorates his dying spirit, but the chaos he has introduced eventually takes a horrific toll.
