The book serves as an authoratative guide to the scratch building of AAA and CSRA compliant midgets, sprint cars, and big cars. Likely one of the first publications of its kind, in almost certainly served as a how-to guide for the racers and car builders at the nexus of the pre-War SCTA drag racing, open wheel and hot rod scenes in Southern California.
