Ryan for a review of the issues and contribution made by Heyerdahl in the 'cultural diffusion' debate (not to mention his early warnings on ocean pollution), but this is also a wonderful and welldocumented real life adventure story describing Heyerdahl's expeditions all over the world in small boats made of reeds. This particular volume, a stated first U.S. edition, is still in very good condition. The green boards and gilt lettering have very light corner and edge wear. Spine and binding are good. Aside from brief gift inscription on ffep, there are no marks, stickers, stamps or writing on the interior pages, which are in very good condition.
