Three-quarter bound red morocco over gorgeous deep blue, gold and white marbled boards, ruled in gold gilt. Publisher's red-stain to all edges. NOTE: Part II only. Rubbing to leather extremities, but very solidly bound. A couple of creased page corners. Heavy foxing, some toning. Text is unmarked. The second half of an epic poem comprising Books VI through II, loosely based on Islamic mythology but actually occurring much earlier, in Babylonian times. The poem involves a group of sorcerors who set out to destroy a certain family, to prevent a prophecy of their future doom from coming true. A young child of the hunted family manages to escape and after being pursued by the sorcerer, gains possession of a powerful ring, and with it, eventually is able to defeat the evil sorcerors.
