Published in 1900, with 1899 on the copyright page. No jacket, as issued. Bound in brown cloth over boards with double rule, gilded lettering, and design to the front and brown lettering to the spine. Spine slightly faded, scuffing to corners, bumped head/tail of spine, and general rubbing. Rough cut long and lower edges. Cracked at pastedown/ffep and ahead of page one, but all holding firm and tightly bound. Infrequent marginal spotting. Overall very good plus.  Pages: (6) 358 (2)     Dimensions: 7⅞ x 5⅝ x 1½.

Bound in original tooled green cloth over boards with gilded lettering on the spine. Some fraying and rubbing at edges and corners, slightly cocked. Top edge gilt (slightly dulled with age), gatherings visible with some appearing looser but all holding firmly. Bookplates from contemporary owner on front pastedown, additional bookplate on rear pastedown. Brown endpapers with some wrinkling at the hinge of the front and some chipping to same along hinge and a chip in rear free endpaper. Old bookseller notes in pencil on ffep verso. Bound in original green cloth over boards with debossed borders on front and rear, and with gilding on the front and spine. General wear including rubbing and some fraying at corners and edges of spine; slightly cocked but strongly bound. Minor water damage to endpapers (only affecting front and rear endpapers), pencil notes and old masonic stamp on ffep. Venetiis (Venice): Ioan Gryphium, 1584. Early Edition. Good. Original limp vellum covers repaired with new/modern backing to support and fill in for tears and points of weakness. Spine cocked, and also repaired to support. Text is mostly clean, some old worm holes with minimal impacts to text. First blank is covered in old notes, likely from many different hands over time. Sporadic notes and minor/old ink stains throughout - minimal to no text impact. Seven woodcuts, the first showing the poet in his studio and the others a repeat of an actor in a theatre with an audience. Terentius wrote six plays, all of which are represented in their entirety here.  Pages: (1) 350 Dimensions: 6 x 4½  x ⅞.
