Description:
Boston: John W. Luce & Company, 1919. First edition. Small octavo. Cloth and maroon boards stamped in gilt. First American edition, precedes British edition by two years. Spine a bit faded, small rub on upper panel, lower right, former owner's name and date on front free endpaper, else a very good or better copy without a dust jacket, but with the requisite watermark.  Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany (1878-1957), was an Irish writer and dramatist, notable for his work, mostly in fantasy, published under the name Lord Dunsany. More than eighty books of his work were published, and his oeuvre includes many hundreds of published short stories, as well as successful plays, novels, and essays.  The mystical city of Bethmoora, first mentioned in Dunsany's A Dreamer's Tales, was incorporated into The Cthulhu Mythos by H. P. Lovecraft. Dunsany also invented creatures, like gnoles and gibbelins, that are likely the models for the zoogs and ghasts of Lovecraft's Dreamlands.

[N.p]: A. J. Weberman, [N.d]. First "bootleg" edition. Very good.. S. Clay Wilson [illus].. Psychedelic pink stapled wrappers, printed in black. Wraps illustrated by A. J. Weberman; interior back panel by S. Clay Wilson entitled "The Meth Freaks Fight the Feds to the Finish," dated 1967.  Outer wraps modestly soiled, sun fading along front edge. 71 pp., numbered from 7 - 78. A copy of Tarantula, published by Bantam Books is included for collector's reference. This rather scarce copy has been held in a private collection since purchase. A very good copy.   Early edition. Although this edition is not dated, there is a reference by the publisher Weberman on the verso of the upper wrap, "You'll never be able to figure this mother out unless you have a Dylan Word Concordance which tells you the contexts of all Dylan's symbols. I'm working on that now...." His Concordance was finally published in 1971, which indicates this edition predates the publication. I would hazard 1967-68 based on the… Read More

New York: Harcourt, Brace & World, 1966. Cloth and boards. Gilt green cloth.  First edition, preceding the UK edition by almost two years.  Near fine in very good, lightly rubbed and smudged pictorial dust jacket. Bryher (1894 - 1983) was the pen name of the English novelist, poet, memoirist, and magazine editor Annie Winifred Ellerman, who supported many artists, writers, and friends with the proceeds of a fortune derived from the Ellerman ship enterprises.  She was a major figure of the international set in Paris in the 1920s, her friends being the usual suspects. With her lover Hilda Doolittle (H.D.) and the Scottish writer Kenneth Macpherson, she launched the film magazine Close Up, which introduced Sergei Eisenstein's work to British viewers. From her home in Switzerland, she helped to evacuate Jews from Nazi Germany, and then became a popular historical novelist. This novel deals with 1066 and all that. .

Description:
New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1923. First American edition. Very good. Octavo. Publisher's unfortunate choice of yellow cloth, paper spine label, decorative endpapers. 287,[3] pp., a great many unopened. Cloth is rather smudged, spine darkened with label chipped and also darkened, a testament to binding choice errors, else a very good copy without the dust jacket that might have saved it.  "The novel comprises several weird tales and culminates in a denouement of deadly horror, connected with a secret society devoted to debauched pagan rites. The three impostors of the title are members of this society who weave a web of deception in the streets of London-relating the aforementioned weird tales in the process-as they search for a missing Roman coin commemorating an infamous orgy by the Emperor Tiberius and close in on their prey: 'the young man with spectacles.'  Publisher John Lane of The Bodley Head, wary of the atmosphere following the trial of Oscar Wilde, asked Machen to expurgate his… Read More

Very good or better in a similar price-clipped dust jacket.  First edition. TINY ALICE is a three-act play by American playwright Edward Albee. The play was first performed in New York in 1964 and is known for its unconventional and ambiguous use of dialogue, symbolism, and commentary on sexuality and spirituality.
