Advertisements also present throughout. A history of the United States Air Force serving and stationed in Great Britain, from World War II on. This includes a look at the 8th Air Force, various planes such as the B-17, the B-24, P-38 Lightning, P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt and many others, as well as airborne missions from the UK in 1944 and the USAAF's mission postwar. VERY GOOD condition. Minor rubbing and wrinkling to the covers. Light bumping and edgewear.

According to worldcat records, this is 'An interesting study of what the author claims is a cult of women in America, a worshipful attitude on the part of American men that is perhaps necessary at this stage but must be replaced by male supremacy as soon as possible.' GOOD condition. Minor to moderate soiling to the jacket, with uneven fading, darkening and scuffing. Some creasing present. Minor tearing along the spine, with some creasing. Head and tail of the spine chipped. General fading and minor soiling to the boards. Paper cracked along the entire front hinge, with the backstrip beginning to lift off. Some bumping to the extremities. Interior clean and solid, with an ownership signature to the title page and a few numbers in pencil to the first endpaper.

Moderate darkening and minor to moderate soiling to the covers. Minor scuffing to the rear cover, with a slight dent/bow to it as well, near the lower edge. Extremities scuffed and bumped, with the corners frayed and slightly curled. Red cloth backstrip faded. Scattered moderate foxing to a few pages within, with minor foxing to several others. Text block is solid, with general darkening (with the exception of the aforementioned loose plate). Small insect hole to the upper margin of pages 167 to 192, not affecting text. Oversized. A few black and white illustrations throughout. Volume one only of this work, providing a travel account of Japan, rather than a history of the country. This includes visits to indigenous villages in the interior, as well as shrines, etc. Isabella Bird was a well known English traveler, turning her letters home into various books. One of her most popular was of her travels in Colorado. Nice gilt work to the leather spine. GOOD+ condition. Leather covers with extensive staining along the front hinge and upper rear cover, with the leather appearing glued to a leather binding. Remains of paper to the lower front cover. Leather rather scuffed along the hinges. Interior clean and solid.

SIGNED by the painter Philip Koch, with a lengthy inscription. A catalog to an exhibition of the paintings of Philip Koch, preceded by a lengthy introduction that covers the history of nature painting in American art, especially the New England tradition. This includes sections on the Hudson River School, the Cos Cob Colony, the Luminist phase, the Old Lyme Colony, the Provincetown Colony, etc. Philip Koch is an American realist painter, turning from abstract work early in his career. His work is held in several permanent museum collections. VERY GOOD condition. Bookplate from an art museum present, with no other treatments noted. Minor fading, rubbing and edgewear.

The paper focuses on Nixon and the Republican's response (or not) to various issues, including the Vietnam War. It ties the use of police force to repress protests with the US military intervention in Vietnam. Also included is a look at how Republican policies affect the gay and lesbian community, the Miami Women's Coalition, etc. One page features a photo of activist George Jackson, with three quarters of the page seemingly containing an excerpt from his book, with mention of his and Fred Hampton's murders as being politically based. GOOD condition. Paper browned. Minor wrinkling and creasing, with heavy creasing at the lower corners. Small tear at the front page fore edge.
