The reverse: pencil signature of Colin Jones, stamped with photographer's stamp and titled 'Africa Upper Volta 1979; a pencil note 'Ilford multigrade printed 2003'; mounted, framed 49cm x 35cm excluding mount and frame. Frame 51cm x 64cm. The reverse of the frame has been cut out to expose the signature and stamp.

Colin Jones was a documentary photographer, whose work has been published extensively in The Times, National Geographic, Sunday Times.he was staff photographer on The Observer in the 1960s where he worked alongside photographers Philip Jones Griffiths and Don McCullin.
