Macrobius had hoped to put his learning and reading at the disposal of his son, to provide useful information. Much of the historical information on various societies and cultures provided in Saturnalia had not been preserved elsewhere. GOOD condition. Covers split along the hinges, very tenuously holding on to the binding. Old cloth tape repair to the head of the spine. Leather cracking and flaking along the hinges and spine. A bibliography/catalogue of the V-disc recordings, big band and jazz works recorded for overseas military personnel by special arrangement between the US government and the various record labels. Many big names recorded for this effort. In VERY GOOD condition with minor uneven darkening, fading and soiling. A diagonal crease present to the front cover near the spine. Light edgewear with a few very minor creases. Text clean and solid with light darkening to the pages.

Originating as the Temple Free Press at Temple University it evolved from a college newspaper to a radical paper under the editorship of Bill Baggins. This issue with news on the case of Fred Ahmed Evans, an African-American activist and leader of the New Libyans in Cleveland. After constant police surveillance and harassment, his group and the Cleveland police engaged in a shootout in 1968 that left seven people dead. The organization sought to educate students and influence public policy on the war (see University of Wisconsin-Madison libraries website). This issue looks at protests in Chicago, the presidential election, the continued bombing in Vietnam, recommends reading, information a mobilization in Washington at Nixon's inauguration, etc. VERY GOOD condition.
