Beautiful red leatherbound editions with gilt details on boards and titles in gilt on the spines, along with gilt top edges. Pages are clean and unmarked, aside from previous owners' stickers and stamps inside front covers. Binding is still quite tight in all four, but spines are in varying states of deterioration, with major chipping and fading. Heavy wear and chipping to spine ends and board corners.

With illustrations. Mild rubbing to pictorial covers with corners and spine ends bumped. Sparse highlighting on page 6, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked. A few instances of mildly split binding, though spine remains straight and binding is fairly strong on the whole.

M. A. Donohue & Co, no date given. Hardcover. Good/None. Assumed printed early 20th century. Boards have beautiful designs and are solid aside from minor scuffing. Gilt top edge. The spine is square, but the binding is heavily yielding with front hinge cracked. The pages are bright, crisp, and unmarked with some slight staining and liquid damage around the edges of the first few pages.

Harper & Brothers Publishers, 1899. Hardcover. Good/None. Becky Sharp edition. With many illustrations of the comedy as produced by Mrs. Fiske and her company of players. Pages are tanned and unmarked. Deckled fore-edge is brittle and chipping. Gilt topstain is faded. Boards are heavily browned and soiled. Corners are bumped and buckram is worn away. Spine ends are softened and frayed. Spine is browned. Binding is separating throughout, and front hinge is partially cracked.

Gilt edging at top of text block is clear. Boards are firm with some frayed areas at edges. Gilt lettering and gilt/color design on front board is clear and unfaded. Spine is square and tight; gilt title lettering on spine is faded but gilt and color design is clear. Previous owners names appear on front endpaper in black and blue ink, and a previous owner's gift tag is affixed to the reverse of the frontispiece. Hinges are intact and secure.

Gilt top stain is a little faded but still catches the light. Front hinge is partially cracked. Binding is starting to crack in the middle and has a slight lean. Boards have heavy rubbing around all edges. Spine ends are chipped. Corners are worn to cardboard. Large crease on front board.
