Six sections totaling 40 pages + 4 pages of preliminary text, in screen-printed paper over board portfolio with cloth spine strip and silk fore-edge ties. Each of the sections contains illustrations (mostly colored) with descriptive letterpress text. States: "Copyrighted ... Jean Berte, inc. New York City." Subtitled: 'An Explanation of the Jean Berte Process of Water Colour Printing.' Berté used hand-cut rubber-faced letterpress printing blocks, which he printed using his own luminous water-based inks. Often overprinting six or more of the purest, most translucent colors, he was able to mass produce images of such freshness and startling impact that they were often confused with being hand painted.
