Description:
Zürich.: Kunsthaus Zürich., 1977. Original printed glossy card wrappers, plastic spiral binding.. (29.5 x 21 cm).. pp. (18). Black-and-white xeroxed photographs. Manon is considered one of the first performance artists in Switzerland. She made her first appearance on the Zürich art scene in 1974 with the performance ""The Salmon-coloured Boudoir"". In all her performances she presented herself as an art product. This booklet documents the creative process for one of Manon’s early performance works, ‘Walk on the Wild Side’, a so-called “Live-show” which took place at the Kunsthaus Zürich on the 23rd November 1977. The works consisted of the construction of a 2-meter wide and 20-meter long dark tunnel with multiple bends, through which the individual must pass, experiencing strong winds, smells and the rather offputting presence of 60 seated people, 30 men and 30 women.

London.: Institute of Contemporary Arts., 1969. Full colour offset lithograph poster.. (75 x 51 cm).. Harald Szeemann's 1969 legendary exhibition Live in Your Head: When Attitudes Become Form was one of the first shows to bring together new tendencies in 1960s art, such as postminimalism, Arte Povera, Land art and Conceptual art. The exhibition travelled from Kunsthalle Bern to the Museum Haus Lange, Krefeld (Germany) to the I.C.A. London, brought to London on the initiative of the late Charles Harrison, who was a writer, freelance curator and assistant editor of the magazine Studio International. This is the original rare poster for the show, illustrated with Victor Burgin’s iconic image of floorboards, here with the text overprinted in black. Artist’s book, published on the occasion of Adam McEwen’s exhibition entitled “Chicken or beef?”, held at the Glenn Horowitz Gallery in New York, September 2008. In the show McEwen exhibited his text message works. The artist had a standard Nokia phone, then the most common phone in Europe, and got somebody to design a font that exactly matched that of his phone. They are supposedly all real texts, texted to McEwen or texted to friends of his who forwarded them to him. This artist’s book reproduces twenty-four of these Nokia text messages. For the exhibition, each enlarged text message was encased in graphite frames. McEwen has been making sculptures out of graphite since 2007. He selects… Read More
