With holograph correction in ink to cover, adjusting the number from the printed "3" to "4," likely as issued. A very early issue of the periodical issued by the Walden Two Commune, which was previously called Southeastern Walden Pool for the first two issues, and eventually became the better known Leaves of Twin Oaks periodical. Destephano, which includes accounts of visiting Koinonia and the attacks on the community, the Agora coffeeshop in St. Louise, and the New Harmony, Indiana site of the Rappites community. Description:
Olympia, WA: Last Word Press, 2020. First edition. 8vo, trade paperback. New from the publisher. A superb new collection of poems by Erik La Prade. La Prade's voice is always sceptical, yet constantly attuned to the possibility of love in countless forms. A careful ear for detail coupled with an often painful irony anchors the poems, which often have the air of a confidence shared on a long walk through the remnants of New York City. In poems such as 'To The Janitor of Huntington Hall, Nov. 21, 1906,' and 'Border Auction,' La Prade reveals himself as a great poet of the liminal materials of culture, with an ear for the stories held in a postcard, the traded thing, the scouted book. Highly recommended.

Description:
[London]: Privately Printed, 1959. Foolscap format, 20 leaves, mimeographed from typescript on rectos only, side-stapled, and backed in black cloth tape. A remarkable two part essay, followed by a selection of poems, by this key figure in British Bohemia, in which she calls for poetry performance to be remade with influences from skiffle and jazz. Orton was a collaborator with Marian Gray, Wally Whyton (of the Skiffle group The Vipers) and numerous others, at such clubs as Toni's, The Alexandria, and The French. The collection of poems are dedicated to Johnny Martyn, Wally Whyton, and Nick Thacher, with thanks to "the following musicians who have shared in the experiments described;" Marian Gray, 'Long John,' and Frank Coldwell. In addition, one of the poems is dedicated to Christopher Bateson. A key work which should be far better known. Black cloth tape pulling away from head of spine, but the stapled binding still quite strong; some creasing and toning; very good.
