Stated first printing, with greenish spine cloth making it not a Book Club Edition. Nice gap filler and cheap but looks nice, no dustjacket. 1st leaf removed(?)

CLOTH SPINE, GREY HARD CLOTH BOARDS. VERY TIGHT AND SQUARE AND CLEAN. Rubbing to the edges, light shelfwear. Minor bumps to corners, light water stain to rear pastedowns bottom(nothing harsh). The DJ has rubbing, chipping, price intact. But it has water stains rear cover, and soiling. But it does have one to help ID as not BCE. It is 1st issue, not indent making it true 1st printing. Excellent gap-filler.

ALL DEFECTS ARE IN THE PHOTOS(12). This is a true 1st printing with the greenish cloth spine and gray boards(Book Club is bluish(aqua) spine), Minor wear or rubbing to the extreme edges. Book is unread tightness, very clean except for cheap glue used on the endpages bleeding thru. The DJ $3.50 PRESENT, has minor soiling, 1 tear front top and was folded down with a wrinkle remaining, minor chips to spine ends. All in the photos. I have several copies ranging from $35 to $350(signed) to fit your budget.

DJ: ALSO HAS WEAR AND RUBBING AND SOME MINOR TEARS WITH BRODART HOLD THEM TIGHTLY, PRICE IS INTACT. BOOK IS VERY VERY TIGHT, FAIRLY CLEAN AND VERY SQUARE.EVEN BEING IN A GOOD-VG CONDITION IT IS STILL THE BEST LISTED 1ST/1ST TRUE EDITION WITH FULL SIGNATURE ONLY, OF THIS PULITZER WINNER.

Please see the photos for best details. DJ was cut a little small so it did not protect the very edges. This is the true 1st Ed with all the 1st issue points as described on FEDPO.comThe top stain has faded but look at angle and you can see it was green. Great price for a true 1st.

This is one of the signed series by Franklin Library. Brown leather with gilt decorations, lettering and page ends. I do no see any defects but NF in case I missed something.

2ND SIGNATURE BELOW 1ST ONE INSCRIBED "and with affection Rod McKuen 1981" I see no defects to the clear DJ or the book, with the Slipcase minor fade along the edges.

THIS IS THE FIRST EDITION/PRINTING FROM THIS PUBLISHER, I HAVE OTHER BOOKS LISTED. THIS BOOK: MINOR WEAR TO THE SPINE ENDS AND BOTTOM CORNERS,PAGES AND EDGES ARE BEGINNING TO BROWN,INSIDE COVERS ALSO BROWNING,NO MARKINGS...dj: IS SOILED,LIGHTLY ON THE COVERS,BUT SPINE IS DARKER BUT READABLE TITLE,LIGHT CHIPPING AFFECTING NOTHING,PRICE INTACT.Included because it is a Pulitzer Prize winner, but after his death, I have placed inside the 2 title pages of Ballads and Poems 1915-1930 and the 1st leaf which has an inscription by the Author and signed full signature. JOHN BROWN'S BODY VG+/DJ: VG- the dj is in 2 pieces but under mylar it is hard to see,it has soiling and about 1 inch missing space top and light chipping. The book is STATED First after the Deluxe Edition except for light bruising to the spine ends and thats it as far as I can see, I believe the book is better than VG+ but I might have missed something. Red leather with gilt page ends. That is all I can say because it is still sealed. It does state on the spine that it is a signed edition, I have an unsealed one and it is the same and it is signed. I add a baggie to ensure moisture/dust stays out. And you have a choice of light protection please let me know which one or none from the photos. The Silver one has chrome corners, handle with an aluminum frame. The sides are heavy cardboard colored as metal, it is really nice looking. The others are computer sleeves in Black, Pink, or Bluish Teal. They all offer protection from color fading due to light, to retain it to look as you see now.

Maroon cloth spine with copper lettering and maroon paper covered boards. a touch of shelfwear and spine ends lightly bruised, signed with signature only 1st title page.

with silver lettering, sticker on front cover "Winner of the 1995 Lenore Marshall Poetry Prize" and just the Signature on the main title page. very clean, square and tight. check photos.

Ex-Lending Lib. only markings is the 3rd photo and bottom end(lightly), the paper excess is from the Mylar glued to book covers, I did not want to expose the endpages to more damage, I brought the book for the DJ of a First Trade edition(a first edition is signed). This has all the first issues except not being signed, If you have a better book but the DJ is shot, take a closer look to this one. All defects are in the photos. Book has a lean, best way to fix is to adjust the book laying on flat surface and a flat book on the other side and add weight(make sure of your adjustment) and just leave it while like a week.

Blue cloth with gold lettering, NO DJ, wear on both spine ends and corners but looks better than it sounds But, also the webbing showing inside front cover. 7 lines of a handwritten saying by George Washington and signed Jusserand. The book is still tight, square, and clean. Pulitzer Prize Winner(1st year).

THIS IS THE 1ST PRINTING MARCH 1916, NO MENTION OF LATER PRINTINGS AND 1916 ON THE MAIN TITLE PAGE,IT WASN'T UNTIL 1930 THEY STARTED ADDING THE "A". THE BOOK IS DARK BLUE CLOTH WITH GOLD LETTERING(ALL PRESENT),ONLY DEFECTS SEEMS TO BE BRUISED(NOT BUMPED) SPINE ENDS AND VERY MINOR RUBBING/SHELFWEAR TO THE EXTREME EDGES OF THE SPINE AND CORNERS(A BLUE MARKER COULD CHANGE THAT),NO MARKINGS,VERY VERY SLIGHT LEAN,TOUCH OF BROWNING TO PAGE ENDS. INCLUDED IS A CUT AUTOGRAPH, "WITH MUCH PLEASURE, JUSSERAND" LAID INSIDE. IT HAS A SMALL AMOUNT OF AGE SPREAD DUE TO THE WRITING INSTRUMENT USED, OVER TIME SOME LETTERS LOOK LIKE OUT OF SHARP FOCUS.
