Nice F.S. edition of the complete collection of fairy tales by Wilde is illustrated with wood engravings in colour by John Gaastra. Dust jacket has some small nicks / curled edge to top and one small closed tear. Tiny loss to jacket on back at base of spine. Inside prelims age toned, otherwise a very good, clean copy. 156 pages. 250 x 165 mm (9¾ x 6½ inches).

A little marking only. Printing details to base of engraving. The backing paper has a touch of creasing and darkening to the edges. Identified, named and dated from identical copies in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Johann Christian Leopold (1699-1755) Print publisher based in Augsburg; son of Joseph Friedrich Leopold (q.v.); published mezzotints after Piazzetta; until 1760 at the earliest. We have deduced this because the address given for the publisher Samuel Wood is 261 Pearl Street in New York, and they were located there between 1817 and 1836. 16 pp. 105 x 83 mm (4¼ x 3¼ inches). .
