First edition hardback, an Ex-Library copy with most of the usual flaws (though no stamps on page block edges, no bands on dj, and the stickers inside the dj protector can usually be peeled off, meaning this has the potential to clean up quite nicely on the outside).

St. Martin's, 1988. Hardback. Very Good/Near Fine-. Book Club Edition, an Ex-Library copy with all the usual flaws, otherwise VG/NF with some dust soiling and slight spine lean. The first of the Datlow/Windling collections, and a very fine one it is; Alan Moore's "A Hypothetical Lizard" is astonishingly good, the Haldeman poem and the Palwick story are among their best, and there's lots more good besides. A nice reading copy of a book that's hard to find as a first.

First edition hardback, a Near Fine copy with slight shiny spotting to the front boards and moderate bumping at head and heel in a Near Fine+ dust jacket with 1/16" open tear and associated wrinkle at heel, moderate wrinkling at head and heel, slight haze rubbing, and a bare trace of age darkening to the very tops of white flaps and very top of blind side. Some really good stories, including two from Greg Egan, plus the original novella version of Nancy Kress' "Beggars in Spain."

It used to be that only the Bluejay Dozois Best Ofs were hard to find, but later volumes are starting to get scarce as well.`

Bluejay Books, 1986. Hardback. Fine/Fine-. Book Club hardback, a Fine-/Fine- copy with a touch of bumping at heel and a 1/8" closed tear at head/rear join. If you want to know why Gardner's won more Best Editor Hugos than anyone else, here's a good place to start. With the exception of S. C. Sykes, every single person in this collection was or is a major writer in the field, even though many were just starting out when he picked these stories. This is one of the strongest of all the Year's Bests he's done. The Bluejay Year's Bests are getting hard to find in any edition. Signed by Waldrop.

Excellent police procedural chess murder mystery set in an alternate world where the founding of Israel failed and Jewish refugees were resettled in a special district in Alaska. Highly recommended.
