Decorative flower and leaf designs to both boards, within a wavy line border which is surrounded by multiple stars, within a ruled line border, all in gilt. Elaborate gilt tooled stars, flowers and decorative roll borders to the inner boards with off-white moire silk endpapers. All edges gilt. Previous owners neat inscription, dated 1914, to the front blank free endpaper. Spine faded to an attractive tan colour and the front board to a lighter green but still a beautiful fine binding from the library of W. A. The compartments fully decorated and lettered in gilt. Decorative and ruled gilt borders to the boards. Decorative gilt roll to board edges and inner dentelles. A few spots of foxing to the fore edge otherwise a very good clean copy throughout, finely bound in recent half dark green morocco, raised bands, the compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Marbled paper on boards. An attractively leather bound copy of this classic of American literature.
