The French physics society (SFP) is a learned society founded in 1873 by Charles Joseph d'Almeida, Pierre Augustin Bertin-Mourot, Marie Alfred Cornu, Désiré Jean Baptiste Garza, Jules Antoine Lissajous, Éleuthère Élie Nicolas Mascart. Recognized as a public utility since 1881, it has intended to contribute to the development and the influence of the physical in France by associating all French physicists. The French physical society is majority shareholder of the Publisher EDP Sciences journals and books, and is also a member of the European Physical Society. The issue of nuclear waste concerns us all and often generates anxiety and fear.
