Octavo (21cm); taupe pictorial cloth, stamped in red, in color pictorial dustwrapper; 7-187pp. Dustwrapper spine and leading edges tanned, extremities slightly chipped, edges rolled; mild soil and wear. Textblock clean and sound. Very Good overall.

Stephen W. Meader presents another historical story for young readers, this time set in Cape May during the early days of the Revolutionary War. Young Jed Starbuck is an indentured servant who wants nothing more than to "strike a blow for liberty" and gets his chance when he joins the crew of a privateer schooner. With b/w text-illustrations throughout by Victor Mays.
