Sterling condition hardcover copy, with unbruised tips, tight binding, and clean internals, showing only very slight shelf- and edge-wear; not ex-library, with neither underlining nor highlighting anywhere. Published by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, 1993, distributed by Harry N. Abrams, with a stunning presentation by maroon cloth with gold lettering on spine, in an illustrated, Fine condition slip-case with matching maroon on nicely-shaped ends. Massively heavy, oversized volume. 688 pp., and absolutely stuffed with black-and-white and full-color, often full-page illustrations. Volume contains scholarly apparatus in the form of, e.g., notes, index, and bibliography, to augment the half-dozen scholarly essays about the collection. From the personal library of Mr. Richard L. Press, formerly of Richard L. Press Fine Art Books of Sacramento, California, a man known fully to have had exquisite taste in art books, to have bought from the best, and to have curated his collection with mostly only stellar condition volumes.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
