First printing, near fien hardcover shows bit of pencil shadow at top corner of half title page and light wear at bottom edge of a few pages, in near fine jacket (price at flap) showing touch of shelf wear. 316 pages with illustrations including a set of color plates. Still an attractive copy of this look at the Cambrian Explosion with the argument that its occurrence conicided with the development of sight.
