Joe Simon co-created Captain America, and was the first editor in chief of Marvel Comics (where he hired Stan Lee for his first job in comics). Record # 353412
Synopsis
Born in 1913, the son of immigrant parents, Joe Simon was an artist all of his life. Initially working as a newspaper writer, photographer and cartoonist, Joe became the first editor at the company now known as Marvel Comics. With long-term collaborator Jack Kirby, he created legendary characters such as Captain America. He passed away in 2011.
