SIGNED by the Author on a publisher's tipped-in front endpaper, tall & thick 8vo, black quarter cloth with gold lettering on spine over gold boards, archival mylar-protected black lettered & pictorial dust jacket (unclipped) with circular image of a man before a bank's barred vault, 472 pages. + Krochs & Brentano's "1st Edition Circle" bookmark. Arthur Hailey, AE (1920 - 2004) was a British-Canadian novelist whose plot-driven storylines were set against the backdrops of various industries. His books, which include such best sellers as Hotel (1965), Airport (1968), Wheels (1971), and The Moneychangers (1975). The latter's plot involves boardroom politics within a major bank as well as counterfeiting, loan sharks, credit card fraud, embezzlement, subprime lending, and insider trading.<br /> <br /> SCARCE SIGNED & in F/NF CONDITION internally & externally. Faint offset on signature page caused by Krochs & Brentano's "1st Edition Bookmark" having been laid in at one point. Some wear and clean nicks to the unclipped dust jacket. No previous owner or remainder markings.
