About This Item
Sequel to At Dawn We Slept. From front DJ flap: "The Battle of Midway Island was the turning point for naval dominance in the Pacific Theater. ...bit by bit, the Japanese naval code was broken...Nimitz flew to the island [Midway] at once to review its defense - and to set in motion the flexible and operational tactics by which an inferior U.S. fleet faced an overwhelmingly superior Japanese Navy, whose leaders were ablaze with overconfidence, and plunged it into the sea." Book - Very Good- condition. Red paper over boards w silver gilt on navy cloth spine. Light soiling to bottom corner and top of closed book page edges. Ex Libris sticker for previous owner, plus a 1982 ink note. Text is clean and binding is tight. Dust Jacket - Very Good- condition. Printed side looks good except for a torn corner where the price would have been. But the inside has both tanning and blue stains that appear to be from glue and navy dye.
